Maternal Health

AWET engaged communities in Shurugwi especially Apostolic community and other religious groups sensitizing them on the importance of safe delivery on their health and that of the unborn.

The project targeted pregnant women (15+) and their partners.

Activities that where implemented :

BCFs will be trained on Maternal Health:
Identifying pregnant women (PW) and refer them to healthcare facilities
Distribution of pamphlets and educating pregnant women on accessing Antenatal care services and postnatal care service
Facilitating registration of pregnant women for antenatal care.
Engaging expecting men to support their pregnant women to visit ANC

AWET is committed to tackling the social-cultural challenges or barriers confronting Apostolic women in communities by mobilizing women of faith to deal with the challenges of their day to day lives.
